"We know they'll be a threat, so the key for us will be matching their physicality, winning those important 1v1 battles and making sure we compete from the first whistle."

"Everyone wants to play in the famous FA Youth Cup, so a good run would be a fantastic achievement for the lads and a great opportunity for the club. There's a real excitement around it, but we've got to make sure that excitement turns into a good performance on the pitch."

With local scouts and senior staff often in attendance at FA Youth Cup fixtures, the occasion also provides a platform for players to catch the eye and take another step towards senior football.

"The FA Youth Cup is a fantastic platform for young players to showcase their ability. It's not just an opportunity to impress the first-team staff at Tadcaster — there are also local scouts who attend these fixtures, so the lads know they have a chance to put themselves in the shop window. Ultimately, they want to play senior football, and nights like Thursday can be another important step towards that."

As for what will be required to progress, the message from the management team is clear.

"We want to see the lads win their 1v1 battles, work hard for each other and play as a team. It's the FA Youth Cup, it's knockout football and we have to go out there with an attacking mindset and look to win the game. Most importantly, we want them to give everything, enjoy the occasion and show what they're capable of. If they do that, hopefully we can put in a performance that gets us through to the next round."
