Tadcaster Albion’s U18’s sailed comfortably through to the First Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup after putting eight past Farsley Celtic.

There was only ever one side in the contest as Albion grabbed control from the first whistle. It took just seven minutes for the deadlock to be broken at Throstle Nest as JP Vass slid number nine JP Turbine in behind before flicking past the onrushing goalkeeper.

It was only a matter of time before goal number two came around and shortly after the 20 minute mark, it was 0-2. Kain Rogerson’s weak effort from 27 yards out somehow crept into the bottom corner after a goalkeeping howler from Mayoko Eliezer Luzitu gifted Taddy a second goal.

Eight minutes later and the man they call ‘Turbo’ had his second of the evening tapping in from close range after Harry Watson kept Rogerson’s free-kick alive. The Brewers went into the break four goals to the good as the aforementioned Watson got himself on the scoresheet looping a header over Luzitu from another Rogerson free-kick.

Taddy started the second half where they left off in the first, finding the back of the net for a fifth time. Kain Rogerson was given all the time and space he needed on the right hand-side before cutting inside and curling effortlessly into the far corner with his luscious left-foot.

JP Vass netted Albion’s sixth of the night 20 minutes from time when the winger smashed an indirect free-kick through a crowd of blue shirts.

Two substitutes came off the bench to round off the scoring in Pudsey; firstly Joe Crosby poke through the keeper’s legs from close range after some good work from Rogerson before Kieran Greenway drove out of midfield and into the bottom corner from range.

In truth, it was all too easy for Tadcaster’s youngsters who could have scored as many as they wanted. The next round will certainly provide a greater test however as they welcome York City to the i2i Stadium.
