Tadcaster Albion U21's kept the pressure on league leaders on Harrogate Town with a 3-1 win at Garforth Town on Wednesday.

Tadcaster started brightly and deservedly broke the deadlock after ten minutes. The ball broke nicely for Kieran Holmes and the centre-back finished with aplomb to give the away side a deserved lead.

Garforth's first serious attack broke on the half-hour mark but keeper Nick Lock saved well down low to his left.

Taddy doubled their lead five minutes before the break when Tom Hullock’s neat turn and perfectly weighted through ball found Jack Simpson whose pace took him away and his neat composure enabled him to slot the ball past the Garforth keeper.

Whilst Sean Hunter’s hold up play brought other’s into the game, it was Rob Hutton who grabbed the first assist in the second half. Another overlap by Harry Sheppeard on the right bought a corner and from the resultant cross, Hutton found Kieran Holmes whose perfect header put the Brewers three goals to the good.

The rest of the second half continued to see Tadcaster probe forward, Hansen released Hunter but his cross was missed by Hutton when a fourth looked likely.

Indeed, whilst it did look like further away goals would come, it was the home side who grabbed a late consolation goal as the blues picked up a loose pass and Lock was unable to keep a deserved clean sheet.

Full-Time: Garforth Town 1-3 Tadcaster Albion

The U21's are back in action next Wednesday when we welcome Halifax Town to the i2i stadium for a 7:30pm kick-off.
