Tadcaster Albion go in search of a third straight win on Saturday as the penultimate month of the season kicks off with a trip to Stocksbridge Park Steels.
Following wins over Loughborough Dynamo and Marske United, Simon Collins’ side are back on course for a place in the end of season lottery after returning back into the Evo-Stik East play-offs.
With three upcoming fixtures against sides fighting the dreaded drop, Albion have to be targeting nine points out of nine ahead of a crunch clash with fourth place Pontefract Collieries.
Steels currently sit 16th in the division just three points clear of the second relegation spot however they have been far and away more successful on their own patch with six out of their total seven wins coming at the Look Local Stadium. They’ll take great motivation from their last home game as they saw off second place Brighouse Town 1-0 back on 16th February.
The hosts will be looking to keep out their old favourite Joe Lumsden who notched his 19th and 20th goals of the season in last Saturday’s 2-1 home victory over Marske. The lethal striker has said that he’s desperate to get one over on his old side but won’t over celebrate if the chance occurs. Tadcaster have the best away form in the league and if they are successful again on the road, it will be their 10th away victory of the season.
When the two clubs met at the i2i Stadium back in September, Taddy were left aggrieved after Lamin Colley’s strike was adjudged not to have crossed the line despite the gigantic protests. Casey Stewart put the Brewers ahead in the first half before a deflected free-kick saw Stocksbridge take a point.
Team News: Jack Walters ruled out with a knee injury. Aaron Hardy could return to the squad
