The Brewers come into their first home match of the new campaign looking to bounce back from the opening day defeat at Ramsbottom United.
An audacious late free-kick stunned Michael Morton’s side in his first competitive game in charge but felt they were unlucky not to come away with a point.
In a fairly scrappy game, a point a piece would have been a fair result as there was very little to separate the two sides.
Ossett Albion kicked off the season at home to Colwyn Bay and were putting in a battling performance before the North Wales outfit eventually wore them down and netted three goals in the final seventeen minutes.
The two Albion’s met at the i2i stadium at the same stage last season and Taddy ran out comfortable three winners after a sumptuous strike from Jimmy Beadle was sandwiched in between two Tom Corner goals.
Morton and Collins will be looking for something similar to get the ball rolling in front of the home crowd this evening.
Manager Michael Morton on the game: “It’s always great going out playing under the lights at the i2i, we are looking to play with a high tempo and hopefully play some exciting football for our fans to enjoy.”
Team News: Danny Frost, Sam Akeroyd and Jason Mycoe are all back in contention after missing Saturday’s season opener but Joel Dixon and Conor Sellars are both missing. Midfielder Corey Roper is still awaiting International Clearance.
Enjoy the game!
