Taddy Manager Ryan Qualter reports a positive mood in the camp after a solid goalless draw away at Retford United on Wednesday night. The side wanted a strong reaction following Friday’s heavy league defeat at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, and he had no doubts the group would deliver. Facing one of the league’s stronger sides on a midweek away trip and keeping a clean sheet was very pleasing, even if there was mild disappointment at not nicking a late winner at the death!

Tadcaster created the better chances and dominated the opening 25 minutes with excellent football on a good pitch, especially from players coming into the side after a planned tactical change.

Only two league defeats all season underline that the team haven't been playing poorly—just lacking the clinical edge to turn performances into more points. The positive result at Retford has boosted confidence heading into Saturdays game.

Qualter is excited about the FA Cup trip to Lancaster City (a side two leagues higher). It’s a chance for the players to test themselves at a good ground against quality opposition, and the squad are determined to cause an upset. The preparation is complete , but on the day it will come down to the players crossing that white line and getting the job done.
