Taddy travel to Glossop North End tomorrow evening looking to secure their place in the next round of the Emirates FA Cup following Saturday’s game finishing all square at 1-1.

There was plenty of encouragement to take from the original tie, with Albion starting the game on the front foot and dominating the opening 20 minutes. Despite creating a number of opportunities, Tadcaster were unable to make their early pressure count and ultimately had to settle for a replay.

Reflecting on Saturday’s performance, Tadcaster manager Ryan Qualter was pleased with the chances created but know there is room for improvement without the ball.

Here were his thoughts when I caught up with him earlier today:

“I thought for the first 20 minutes we were very dominant and ultimately should have been way more clinical. However, we lost control of the game slightly in the second half. I was happy with the amount of chances we created, however I think we can be much more solid and be better without the ball.”

The replay presents an immediate opportunity to put those lessons into practice, with Albion knowing that another strong start will need to be matched by concentration and defensive savvy throughout the 90 minutes.

Ready for the challenge

Saturday’s result may have left the squad disappointed at not getting over the line, but the response within the group has been a positive one. With another opportunity to progress in the FA Cup just one day away, the players will be determined to make their chances count this time around.

“The boys were obviously slightly disappointed with not getting over the line on Saturday, but the group have a good attitude and will be very motivated to go and win the game at Glossop.”

That mentality will be crucial for tomorrow, with the tie effectively providing Taddy with a fresh opportunity to put a cup run together this season.

New signings make an impact

There were also plenty of positives to take from the performances of Taddy's new arrivals, with the summer signings making positive contributions in their first game for The Brewers.

The importance of squad depth is likely to become increasingly vital as the season develops, particularly during a period where games are coming thick and fast!

“I thought all of the new signings did very well and that was very pleasing. Having squad depth is very important with the amount of games you have early on in the season plus with the current conditions of the pitch.”

Albion will assess the squad ahead of the replay and prepare accordingly for what promises to be another difficult encounter against a Glossop side determined to progress to the next round themselves.

The supporters will travel with the side hoping to see the lads but on a show and produce another energetic performance, but this time finish the job and book their place in the next round.
