Taddy Albion vs Stalybridge Celtic – FA CUP Preliminary Round Match Preview

Harry Hamblett

The road to Wembley continues........

Taddy Albion return to action this weekend with a tough test against a strong Stalybridge Celtic side, as the Brewers look to build on recent performances and progress into the next round of the FA Cup.

Ryan Qualter had this to say about tomorrow's fixture:

"It's a massive game for us against a very good Stalybridge side. They were very unlucky not to get promoted last year but they have recruited extremely well. They play front-foot football and are very good in attacking areas. They have plenty of experience within their ranks as well, so it will be a very tough game for us, but one we are excited about."

While pleased with the opportunities his side have created in recent weeks, there has been a clear focus on improving defensive organisation.

"We have been disappointed that in the moments where we have maybe switched off or lost our shape, we have conceded goals. We are pleased with the amount of chances we are creating within games, but we have worked very hard on our shape when we lose the ball and making sure we are organised so we are not affected by counter-attacks when we do lose the ball."

The Brewers know they will need discipline and resilience against one of the division's strongest outfits, while also showing greater quality when opportunities arise.

"I think it's important that without the ball we are very organised and solid. We will at times not see much of the ball and we have to accept that, but we must be willing to work hard without the ball. Then, when we have the ball, we must show more quality and composure than we have. We will stick to our principles and hopefully we can implement them in such a big game."

Preparations have been positive throughout the week, with the squad fully focused on the challenge ahead.

"Training this week has been really positive and, as always, the lads have applied themselves extremely well. We have worked hard on a few things ahead of Saturday and the boys are ready!"

With confidence high and preparations complete, The Brewers will be aiming to put in a disciplined and determined performance in front of their supporters as they take on one of the league's promotion contenders.

COME ON TADDY!!!
