An uneventful opening of the game saw both teams struggling to make any chances with repeated long balls up each end of the field just not getting the fortunate bounce needed.
Just before the half an hour mark Tadcaster were able to get an opportunity with Alex Clark sprinting down the wing then sending a ball into the centre of the box as Harry Croft swept the ball home to score his first goal for the club. 1 - 0.
Less than two minutes later Olly Green was able to find Clark with a searching ball on the outside of the area, and he lashed an effort towards goal which struck the post.
With ten minutes to go in the first half Lewis Binns was the first player to go in the book for a shove on his man at midfield.
The second half started similarly to the first. Former Tadcaster player Elliot Andrew got himself the second booking of the game for dissent following a challenge. Tadcaster’s Alex Zachariou then also found himself in the book for tripping his man with ten minutes gone in the half. Andrew Shepherd became the third Tadcaster player to go in the book for another trip in midfield as the half struggled to get going.
A spark showed just before the last ten minutes with substitute debutant Jack Woodcock dribbling past three players and shaping up to shoot but sending his effort wide.
With ten minutes to play Frickley’s Sam Cable threatened to steal a result for the visitors with Shepherd heading his effort off the line after he was found with a cross.
Cable was involved again as he played through substitute Liam Flanagan who broke away from Ryan Gothard and with only Harry Stead in the Tadcaster net to beat, he put his opportunity wide.
Jack Woodcock was substituted off with an injury on the 87th minute with Des Okoro replacing him.
Into added time of the 90 and Flanagan was involved again racing down the wing and playing a low cross into the box with Cable making amends for his previous miss by tapping in the equaliser.1 -1
Just after the goal with the Brewers looking for a winner, Green got on the end of a ball over the top and with just the keeper to beat was barged to the floor by Thomas Radley who was dismissed for obstructing a clear goalscoring opportunity.
It was decided that the foul happened just on the outside of the area and the last chance of the game was the free kick, which was struck well by substitute Curtis Senior but saved, concluding the game at 1-1.
Tadcaster next take on Stalybridge Celtic from the Northern Premier League Division One West at home in the FA Cup preliminary round. Kick Off at the Young Guns Arena is at 3.00 pm.
