Ryans View from the Dugout.

Article that was to have been in the last programme.

Good afternoon and a Happy New Year to firstly everyone involved at Tadcaster Albion. I would also like to welcome Barton and wish them a Happy New Year.

Last Saturday was a fantastic derby day win for us and one we were delighted with as a group. I asked the players to leave everything out there and they did just that. The spirit and togetherness they showed to get the win and the clean sheet was outstanding. Also, I must thank the fans for their travelling support at Knaresborough. it really spurred the players on and shows exactly what this club is about.

It was a much needed win after a tricky run, but this group ended the year in the playoff positions, a great place for us to be. However, we know it’s only halfway through the season and there is a long way to go. Games will come thick and fast and that starts today with an incredibly tough game against a very good Barton side. They themselves have had an excellent season so far and have a talented management groups and squad.

It’s set up to be a brilliant way to start 2026 with 4th vs 5th. These are the games that the players should love playing in especially in front of our loyal support.

As we enter the new year, I must thank everyone at this football club from the Chairman, the board, the players and of course you, our amazing fans. Taking this job has personally helped me so much since my health issues and I can’t thank everyone enough.

Lastly a special mention to the players, of course we know there are highs and lows in football, but their commitment so far has been outstanding, and I can’t fault their attitudes.

Once again Happy New Year and I hope you enjoy the game.

Ryan.
