A Quick Look at the New Players

Edson (Eddy) Prata (Forward)

22 year old Eddy signed for The Brewers just in time for last Saturday’s match at Carlton Town.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Eddy moved to Leeds several years ago and played for Leeds United Under 13’s before two seasons as a scholar with Bradford City in their Under 18’s. From there he spent a year with Harrogate Town Under 19’s during the 2019/20 season, after which he returned to his native Portugal playing for FC Moura.
He returned to England in time for this campaign’s preseason matches and impressed Guiseley who signed him
Eddy is a natural creative forward and favours the right wing. In his first game for Tadcaster he had a hand in our goal, linking well with Lewis Hey, also making his debut, whilst his moves down the right flank and accurate crosses might on another day, have won the game for us.
Welcome Eddy – Enjoy your time with us!

Lewis Hey (Central Midfield)

Lewis comes on loan from Guiseley until the 29th October and having played in last Saturday’s match will be available for the games against Grimsby Borough, Shildon, Lincoln and Worksop.
Still only nineteen years old, Keighley born Lewis came through the Guiseley academy before signing first team forms under the previous management team at the Lions. He made his first term debut two years ago when he came on as a substitute against Boston United and made his first senior start a month later at AFC Telford.
After further impressing last season, he was awarded a new and improved contract with Guiseley last July.
Lewis is the son of Nicky Hey, who played many years for both Bradford City and AFC Guiseley. Like Eddy Prata, Lewis played in last Saturday’s draw at Carlton Town and was instrumental in our early goal having raced down the left flank before delivering the killer cross for Nathan Dyer. Lewis’s lob early in the second half could so easily have turned the eventual result
We hope you will enjoy your spell at the So-Trak Stadium Lewis, and we are indebted to AFC Guiseley for making the loan possible.

Roy Fogarty (Striker)

Leeds born, 31-year-old Roy arrived at Tadcaster just days before his former managers’ Craig Ogilvie and Neil Sibson. He spent six years with Bradford City before his move into non-league since when he has gained experience with a number of club’s most notably Liversedge, Yorkshire Amateurs, Worksop, Ossett United and Whitby Town.
Roy has been described as “An old school number nine” who links up well with the front runners and just loves getting into the six-yard box .
He is a natural target man up front both experienced and skilful and is a popular player with both fans and team mates. It is just a matter of time before he opens his account with The Brewers
Great to have you on board Roy!
