The NCEL Premier season came to an end on Saturday afternoon as Hallam hosted Beverley Town in the league play off final to decide who joined Silsden in promotion to the Northern Premier League East. In a close game that ended 2-2 after 90 minutes, it went straight to a penalty shoot out which Hallam won 4-3. This promotion means they move out of the NCEL for the first time since it was formed in 1982.
At the bottom end of the table, Goole Town and Winterton Rangers were relegated to the NCEL Division one. Their places will be taken by Champions Horbury Town from near Wakefield and the winners of the Division 1 play off final. This will be between Wombell Town, and Dearne and District and will be decided on April 26th.
In the Northern Premier League East, the league above the NCEL, 3 local teams will be dropping down to Tadcaster Albions level as Brighouse Town, Sheffield and Liversedge have all been relegated.
All the above is subject to agreement by the Football Association as they have sometimes to adjust leagues due to geographic reasons, also ground grading and teams saying they are leaving their league can be factors.
