Matty Dixon Signs Up for Tadcaster Albion

Matty Dixon Signs Up for Tadcaster Albion

John Clothier30 Jun 2022 - 18:31

Another Seasider Comes to Town

We would like to offer a warm welcome to Matty Dixon who joins us from Bridlington. The 28-year-old was an ever-present last season with the Seasiders and is equally at home in midfield or at right back but is not averse to getting forward whenever it is appropriate.

5’ 9” Matty began his career in Hull City’s youth team and still lives in that area having grown up in nearby Brandesburton. He made his first team debut against Accrington Stanley before signing for York City which was not the happiest of moves as The Minstermen were relegated out of the EFL that season.

He moved to non-league with local North Ferriby before spending the 2017/18 campaign with Spennymoor United (where he had his first visit to Taddy in a pre-season friendly). He spent a season at Scarborough and then onto Whitby Town before Curtis Woodhouse took him to Gainsborough Trinity for the 2020/21 season.

“ Having spoken to John Deacey I am delighted to be joining the Brewers . It sounds like a really good season coming up and a team which will give promotion a good go. I played alongside Corey Roper at Whitby and of course, Brett Agnew and Pete Davidson who were at Brid last season”

Good to have you on board Matty – We wish you every success during your time with us
