The Brewers return home on Tuesday evening as they look to put Saturday's disappointing 3-1 away league defeat at Handsworth behind them. On this occasion we are playing Wakefield AFC in the West Riding County Cup competition. We played The Falcons at home in the same competition in February 2024 and were beaten 3-1 in front of a crowd of 185, our goal coming from Dan Thirkell . We progressed to this stage of the completion with a 3-1 win against Steeton in late October, the crowd was 143
Wakefield play one league below us in the NCEL league 1. They have had a good season to date. At the weekend they had a fine 5-1 away victory at Ilkley Town. This put them in 4th place in the league table with 38 points from 20 games played. They have played in the NCEL Division 1 for the last 3 seasons and have always finished in the top 4. A team that is building steadily for the future.
A good test for us as we seek to bounce back.
