This really is a mouth watering encounter as 2nd plays 3rd in the NCEL Premier Division. Who would bet against these two teams being involved at least in the play offs at the end of the season, maybe even meeting again at that stage. After this game, The Brewers are just 3 games away from being half way through their season. The season now becomes relentless as we have eleven league games to play before the end of 2025, it truly will be a squad game in this section of the campaign and all of the squad will have vital roles to play.

Sheffield have had a great start to the season. Away from home, they have 11 points from 9 games played. The bulk of their points have been gained at home with 20 points from 8 games played. In midweek, they had a 2-2 home draw with Campion, only denied victory with a late equaliser. This leaves them 2 points behind The Brewers in the table, but they have played 2 games more. In goal for them has been Sam Green who was with us for the last few seasons. He has been goalie for 14 of their 17 league games.

The last time the two teams met in the league was 3 seasons ago in the Northern Premier League. On this occasion it was The Brewers who came out on top with a 2-1 victory. Omar Sanyang scored both goals in our win, one of very few we had that campaign. The crowd that January evening was 122. Whilst in the away game that season, it was a 1-1 draw with Jack Carr getting an early strike for us.

The return league game at Sheffield could be vital as it is our last away game of the season, and just one home game is scheduled to take place after it.
