The Brewers are back in action at home on Tuesday evening when they play fellow North Yorkshire side Pickering Town. Last Season, The Pikes finished in 19th place of 20 teams in the league with 30 points from their 38 games played. They were just 4 points clear from relegation to NCEL Division 1. At the weekend they played at home to Campion and had a fine 3-1 victory. This continued their decent start to the season. They have collected 13 points from 9 games. So they are 2 points behind Taddy in the league table with a game in hand. They have collected 6 points from 6 away games. Their league position may be a bit false as they have played twice as many away games compared to home games.
In the games last season, The Brewers had a fine 6-3 home win on Boxing day in front of an attendance of 238, whilst in the away game, The Brewers were beaten 3-2. So honours even over the season.
An important game on Tuesday for The Brewers to win to push on after their superb 1-0 win at league leaders Penistone Church at the weekend. That victory left them 10 points off the top of the table with 2 games in hand on Penistone. Due to cup competitions, the table is a bit uneven in games played, so when it starts to work itself out, it could well bunch up at the top and leave us with a very competitive race for the title and play off positions.
Hope to see you on Tuesday if possible.
