Tuesday Night Cup Football.

The Brewers play Harrogate Railway in a fixture that hasn't been played much in recent years. The Rail have had a good season to date and stand in 3rd place in the NCEL Division 1 table, well in the play off positions. They have 4 games in hand on the leaders Dearne and District, so their season could have a very exciting end.

In previous rounds in the West Riding County Cup, we have had wins at home against Steeton and Wakefield Town, whilst Railway beat F.C
Halifax Town 4-0 and Guiseley 5-1 at home. The Brewers go into the game after back to back league wins against Knaresborough Town away and 2-1 on Saturday at home to Bottesford Town. That was a solid, hard won victory against a dangerous team and is a very good sign for all the battles to come as the league season heads to its climax.

Harrogate Railway went down at the weekend 4-3 away at Doncaster City. That was their 2nd successive league defeat as they had previously been beaten 3-0 at Route One Rangers. They remain well in the promotion pack.

So, this has all the makings of an entertaining evening even with the joy or despair of penalties waiting for the teams if they can't get themselves a positive outcome on the night.
