Next Season's Squad Taking Shape as Pre Season Preparations Begin

Manager, John Deacey, sums up the current position;

I mentioned last time that we had invited all of last season’s squad to stay on for the new campaign. I am really pleased to report that most of the players have responded positively.

1. Dan Hartley
2. Kesi Omolokun
3. Jack Carr
4. Jack Crook
5. Mark Ferguson
6. Chris Howarth
7. Corey Roper
8. Donald Chimalilo
9. Eddie Church
10. Des Amponsah
11. Jordan Deacey
12. Tom Godden

They put in such a great performance at the end of the season - a young team with much potential . From my position It was so important to retain as many of those players as possible. I could not be happier with their response.

We have brought in several new faces to add experience to the squad. Over the next few weeks, we will introduce them one by one on the website and social media so that by the time we have our first pre-season friendly against Redcar Athletic on the 9th July, all of our supporters will know who is who.

Training for the new season commences on Tuesday 5th July. Some clubs allow a much longer run in but I feel it can be counterproductive when it is match practice that is so important. All the players, new and old, will start at that time on a level playing field.

I am very pleased with the warm up games already agreed but hope we can soon fill in the free Saturday on the 30th July – just a couple of weeks before the league commences.

Please do try to get down to the pre-season friendlies - admission costs are reduced and a good crowd will help all the players settle in to the new season, whilst also providing a lot of entertainment. I particularly hope the Friday game on the 15th July against Tadcaster Magnets is well attended – it would be good to have a close relationship with the other main Tadcaster team.

We will get back to you when the League fixtures are announced

John
