We are delighted to announce that 21-year-old Charlie Marshall, has joined the club from Liversedge. 6’ 4’’ Charlie will be available for selection straight away.
Charlie is an attacking midfielder but is happy to play in any position up front
He is the son of ex Taddy Manager and current Garforth boss, Paul Marshall and played for our under 12’s junior side when it was managed by Club Chairman, Andy Charlesworth.
He went on the represent Tadcaster Magnets, in his own words “a giant step between junior and senior football,” and after a spell at i2i, signed up for the under 19’s at Pickering Town.
When Dad Paul took over the reins at Garforth Town, Charlie moved to the “Miners” and really enjoyed his time there but when Liversedge showed interest he knew it was time to move on
He joined the current league leaders during the summer recess and has learnt a great deal during his time there. Nevertheless, with the success of that club in the current campaign, first team appearances were few and the chance to play regular football here precipitated his return to his footballing roots.
John Deacey had this to say of his first signing;
“Charlie is a great signing for the club. He is young and eager to get amongst the goals and will provide more support to the front men. We need to get him match fit as soon as possible but his experience at Liversedge should hold him in good stead."
