Tremendous Away Victory on Friday Evening.

On Friday evening, The Brewers headed to Bradford to play their latest NCEL game against fellow play off hopefuls Campion. They went into the game just 3 points behind Campion.

It was the home team who struck first in the 10th minute with a goal by Ewan Gregson who found the bottom corner of the goal with his left foot as he cut inside the penalty area.

The Brewers responded well and went close in the 15th minute as a corner caused confusion as the ball bounced around the area. Just a minute later they went close again as a Des Okoro shot was blocked after good work by Charlie Owen. The pressure soon paid dividends as Charlie Owen stroked home an equaliser after Captain Andrew Shepherd had set him up.

In the 27th minute, Campion had a goal ruled out and just 2 minutes later, Brewers player manager Ryan Qualter saw his header from a corner land on top of the net in a near miss. The Brewers were now playing well in this important game. Andrew Shepherd received the first yellow card of the game just before half time.

The Brewers were now on the front foot and a break by Charlie Owen led to a penalty kick in the 42nd minute as Ollie Green was fouled in the area. It was well converted as Oli Norman drove the ball home for a deserved lead. The Brewers then instantly doubled the lead as Olly Green tapped in from a counter attack when a shot from Oli Norman was only half saved by the keeper. Half time arrived with The Brewers having come back superbly after their early setback.

The second half kicked off with Andrew Shepherd being replaced by Ollie Metcalfe. The first chance of the second half fell to Ollie Norman who was wide with a header from a cross by Olly Green. Des Okoro then had an effort easily saved after work again from the industrious Olly Green, who was involved again a minute later as he collected a yellow card, a further card followed for Spencer Harris.

The home team then had a good spell as they looked to get back into the game, but it was Olly Green again who went close with an effort on 69 minutes. It was now time for the defence to be tested and Pearson, Qualter and Harris all did good work to keep the 2 goal lead intact. With 11 minutes to go, the game swung Taddy's way again as home defender Matthew Nebard collected his second yellow for a foul on Green and left the pitch.

The action was not finished as substitute Miguel Cassama sliced a chance wide, whilst soon at the other end, Campion's scorer Gregson was denied his second of the night as Taddy Keeper Ally Hughes made a fine save to tip his effort onto the post on 82 minutes.

As the clock clicked to 90 minutes, substitute Noah Kiwomya shot just over after being set up by Matthew Mulhern. The five minutes added on time was well played out by Taddy and they had secured a massive win on the road.

This result left The Brewers in 5th place and in the play offs, now only behind Campion on goal difference. This will likely change as the rest of the teams play on Saturday afternoon. Their next game is away again at Parkgate near Rotherham on Tuesday evening. They then are at home to Pickering Town next Saturday. All still to play for.
