Both keeper Alex Mooney and left back, James Moorby played against us in the pre-season friendly with “Town”, Alex defying everything we could throw at him and James, a rock in defence.

The arrangement with Town is for the remainder of the season and they will come in and help us when needed.

Mick O’Connell is really pleased with the relationship we have formed with Harrogate Town;

“It’s a brilliant relationship with Town and we are really appreciative of both the Club and their Academy manager, Josh Law for helping us out. Josh and Rory McArdle (Head of Youth Coaching) are doing a fantastic job developing these young players and we are going to give them some exposure at a competitive level of men’s football. This will help their development and prepare them for what is to come.

They both have qualities that will benefit us. James has, in fact, already helped us out in the game away to West Allotment Celtic in the preliminary round of the FA Cup when he filled in faultlessly at left back. Alex is a really good young keeper who will also compete for the spot in goal for us – an area where we need competition.”
