Following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Butchers Arms, the two sides go head-to-head again this evening for the chance to play Pickering Town in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy.
Casey Stewart put the Brewers in front with just over twenty minutes to go but substitute Brandon Zibaka fired into the net on 85 minutes to send the tie to a second meeting.
Tadcaster certainly had the better chances on the day; Casey Stewart squandering a clear one on one in the first half only managing to hit the outside of the post with Pete Davidson completely fluffing his lines from eight yards out in the second half.
When the two sides met at the i2i Stadium back in February, it was an incredibly happy day for the Brewers winning emphatically 4-0. A brace from Josh Barrett followed by classy goals from Billy Whitehouse and Chris Howarth sealed a convincing victory in the Evo-Stik North.
Can Taddy win their first ever FA Trophy tie this evening and set up a mouth-watering clash with the Pikes…….
Team News: Joe Lumsden (quad strain) and Corey Roper (MCL sprain) both still out injured; the former potentially making a return this weekend with the latter still a couple of weeks off. Simon Collins likely to name the same eleven players again.
