Tadcaster Albion crashed out of the Emirates FA Cup after three cheap first half goals handed Bamber Bridge the victory.

Taddy made three changes to last week’s defeat at Gresley as Ellis Barkworth and Aaron Hardy were both recalled as well as a debut for Lamin Colley.

Albion got off to the worst possible start in Lancashire as a quick throw-in led to Alistair Waddecar curling low past Michael Ingham after three minutes.

In a lively opening, it could have been all square again four minutes later as Billy Whitehouse slid Joe Lumsden in behind but his effort was palmed away by Lloyd Rigby.

The Brewers continued to press high and exploit the gaps in Brig’s back-line as Joe Lumsden went close again but his clever cryuff flick was well stopped by Rigby.

Rigby’s opposite number Michael Ingham was also called into action soon after, flying high to his left to push Matthew Dudley’s bending effort around the post.

Lamin Colley poised a real threat after moving out to the left-hand side, using his power and pace to get the better of Paul Dawson several times. On this occasion the former Stockport man slid Casey Stewart in down the left-hand channel who fizzed a dangerous ball across the face of goal but no blue shirts were on hand again.

Last year’s play-off winners pounced on Taddy’s inability to find the net by scoring a second goal on 27 minutes.

The initial free-kick was certainly a soft call on Colley but nevertheless Albion’s defending made it all too easy for Bridge. Ryan White’s whipped delivery was headed home at the back post by an unmarked Brad Carsley.

Tadcaster’s day got even worse nine minutes from the interval as Brig capitalised on some more slack defending.

One long goal kick by Lloyd Rigby wasn’t dealt with allowing for Matthew Dudley to bravely flick past the advancing Michael Ingham.

Taddy weren’t performing poorly in possession by any means, it was just basic defensive errors costing the side once again.

The Brewers came out in the second 45 and dominated proceedings looking for a way back into the cup tie.

Number nine Joe Lumsden looked a constant threat as usual and the striker almost gave his side a glimmer on 53 minutes after engineering the space to let fly only for Rigby to unorthodoxly save with his forearm.

However Lumsden did eventually get the beating of Rigby on the hour mark, in outrageous fashion too. After controlling Pete Davidson’s pass, he executed a quite remarkable chip over the goalkeeper from 20 yards out, brilliant from Albion’s top scorer, his fifth of the season.

Collins’ side continued to boss the cup tie and despite trailing 3-1, looked as though they could definitely find a way back. Brig’s centre-back pairing of Lawlor and Charnock were desperate not to give anything away and Taddy didn’t get much change of the duo, it was the wide areas where an opening looked most likely.

Lamin Colley darted inside from the left before seeing his fierce strike ricochet narrowly wide before Lumsden headed over the resulting corner.

Tadcaster’s final hope of salvaging any chance of a replay arrived three minutes from time when Casey Stewart had a free shot on goal however Rigby got down well to his left to push clear.
