After a week off, the Brewers are back in Evo-Stik East League action on Saturday looking to keep the good form going as AFC Mansfield visit the i2i Stadium.
Apart from the brief cup blip, October was a perfect month for Taddy beating Loughborough, Wisbech, Eccleshill and most recently an emphatic first victory at Cleethorpes.
After a somewhat up and down start to the campaign, Simon Collins’ side seem to be turning a corner as they currently sit just outside the play-off places with games in hand on teams around them.
Tadcaster usually boast a much healthier home record than away but this season it’s the opposite way round after notching four victories on the road, something that no other team in the division has done. Having said that though, Albion have only won two out of six at the i2i Stadium, something they will definitely want to improve upon today.
Mansfield may have only won twice away from home so far this season but they had a brilliant result earlier in the week winning 1-0 at Evo-Stik Premier side Hednesford in an FA Trophy replay. Kieran Wells, a name Taddy fans will remember for his time at Handsworth Parramore, scored the only goal of the game in the first half to seal their place in the second qualifying round.
In terms of their league form, the Bulls haven’t been on the winning side since their 2-1 victory over Gresley on the 11th September. Having said that they will be hoping that Tuesday night’s trophy victory will galvanise and instil greater confidence amongst the squad rather than fatigue playing a part.
AFC currently sit in 15th place accumulating 12 points from their first 11 matches however they do hold games in hand on most due to their cup exploits.
When the two sides last met back in February 2015, it was a memorable day for the Brewers who won 3-0 to advance into the quarter-finals of the FA Vase thanks to goals from Josh Barrett, Josh Greening and George Bissett.
A win for Taddy here could see them rise as high as 3rd with Mansfield looking to climb into mid-table.
Team News: Midfielder Corey Roper closing in on a return, should be back next week. Joe Lumsden likely to return to the starting line-up after fully recovering from injury.
