Stewart then effectively sealed the points in the second half as he caught Phillips off his line and finished brilliantly from range before Andy Milne swept in a fourth late on.

Taddy started brightly on a dreary day in Yorkshire.

Billy Whitehouse was making his home debut for the club and it was his teasing cross from the right that was clipped narrowly over by Casey Stewart.

18-year-old full-back Harry Sheppeard was also making his first league home start and he began with a means to go on driving down the by-line at incredible speed.

Courtney Meppin-Walter had GNE’s first effort of the afternoon as he let fly from 30 yards but Ingham made sure by tipping wide at full stretch.

Seconds later from the resulting corner, the aforementioned towering defender had a glorious chance to open the scoring but he couldn’t beat Ingham from six yards out.

How that proved to be costly as three minutes later and Taddy were ahead.

Casey Stewart fizzed it into Aiden Savory who returned the favour first time before the young attacker danced through the North End back-line in one swift movement and Stewart finished emphatically to give Taddy a deserved lead.

Both sides were then forced into making a substitution with Glossop captain Adam Jones trudging off for Will Shawcross before Corey Roper took a nasty knock on the ankle and was replaced by Conor Sellars.

Michael Ingham was yet to make an anything but routine stop on his return as the Irishman comfortably tipped over Callum Chippendale’s free-kick.

Taddy were impressing on the eye and they doubled their lead shortly after the half hour mark, in fortuitous fashion it must be said.

Pete Davidson, or the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ as some prefer, got the ball under control before gallivanting powerfully into the penalty box and seeing his low blast goalwards bounce in off Paul Phillips.

The shot took a wicked bounce in the goalmouth but Albion didn’t care as Davidson wheeled away celebrating his second goal of the season.

Frustration was evident in the Glossop ranks as midfielder Kane Hickman came flying through the back of goalscorer Davidson to then be shown a yellow card.

The visitors started the second half on the front foot after regrouping at the break.

Glossop were playing their football in Tad's half in the opening ten minutes but they failed to trouble Michael Ingham or Tadcaster’s back-line who were looking impressive once again.

2-0 is always a precarious scoreline and the third goal was effectively the game sealer and it came in the 56th minute for the Brewers.

Glossop goal-tender Paul Phillips raced off his line but miscued his clearance only as far as Casey Stewart.

Stewart has said that he wants to contribute more after his first league goal last week and he is certainly doing that now as he shrugged off a blue shirt, stayed composed and found the back of the net from way out, all of 35 yards.

A stunning strike from the highly-rated Stewart put Tadcaster in complete control of the contest.

On a pitch that was cutting up due to the constant barrage of rain, Ingham was forced into making his first tough save as he got down well to push Chippendale’s bouncing shot from range wide of the post.

Tadcaster continued to look menacing when marauding forward and they came close to a fourth half-way through the second forty five when a sliced clearance from Callum Spooner fell to Pete Davidson whose shaped effort was palmed away by Phillips.

The visitors came the closest they had come all afternoon a minute later when an incredibly dangerous ball across the face of goal was shielded away by Aaron Hardy with substitute Max Hazeldine sliding in.

With the points in the bag and the game over as a contest, Michael Morton’s side ran down the clock with Josh Barrett and Fraser Papprill comfortably dealing with Glossop’s front line.

The effervescent Casey Stewart caused the Hillmen problems all afternoon and they quite simply couldn’t live with him and he almost completed his hat-trick seven minutes from time when his sublime body feint opened up space in the box but his powerful blast was kept out by Phillips.

However there was still time for a fourth and for Taddy to round off an outstanding afternoon as Stewart turned provider in the final minute of normal time.

Stewart had the ball at his feet inside the box and could have engineered a shot to complete his hat-trick but credit to the young man who unselfishly teed up substitute Andy Milne and he swept firmly into the bottom corner.

Another brilliant performance from each and every player involved, difficult to single anyone out, the Brewers now unbeaten in four league matches and have recorded three successive clean sheets.
