Trafford defender Paul Linwood was shown a straight red card for deliberate handball on 43 minutes before Conor Sellars opened the scoring at the start of the second half.
Tom Baker’s side gleefully left Yorkshire with a point however as Kingsley Williams came off the bench to snatch a point.
Manager Michael Morton intended to shape up with the same team that won at Glossop North End last week but forward Aiden Savory pulled up in the warm-up and had to be replaced by Andy Milne.
It was a bitterly cold afternoon in Yorkshire with a blocked shot for either side the only action of the first ten minutes.
The Brewers were putting their Manchester based opponents under plenty of pressure as the visitors shaded possession in the opening exchanges.
More of that aforementioned pressure from Conor Sellars led to Tom Corner whistling a long-range strike not far wide after twelve minutes.
Paul Linwood and Chris Palmer headed and struck harmlessly over with Michael Ingham untested in the Taddy goal.
The closest either side came to a breakthrough was in the 36th minute when Conor Sellars curled a free-kick around the wall only to see it crash of the face of the post.
This clearly geed up the magic man as just a few minutes later he drove low and hard towards the bottom corner only for Shenton to be equal to it.
Red cards seem to be a recurring theme at the minute and there was no change here as Trafford defender Paul Linwood was shown his marching orders two minutes from the break.
A ball in behind looked to be comfortably dealt with by Linwood but as it popped up, it struck the hand and the referee took his time and brandished the red card.
Linwood was the last man with Greening applying the pressure which was obviously the reason as to why it was a red card and not a yellow.
Half-Time: Taddy 0-0 Trafford
The breakthrough came six minutes in to the second half and it was that man Conor Sellars.
Josh Greening was bundled over by Louis Corrigan and referee Michael Herzog pointed to the spot, to make him more popular with the visitors.
Conor Sellars stepped up and confidently sent Grant Shenton the wrong way.
Morton’s side almost doubled their lead half-way through the second forty five and in top quality fashion too.
Conor Sellars fired into Josh Greening, he flicked first time to Cam Murray who slid Lawrance Hunter in down the left who’s low fizzing strike deflected onto the woodwork.
Trafford were just keeping their shape and allowing Taddy to have the ball and as they continued to pop it about, they felt the need to go forward which then obviously gave Trafford it back.
In the 72nd minute, the Brewers passed up on probably their best chance to further their lead.
Tom Corner played in Josh Greening down the right-hand side who returned the favour pulling back to Albion’s top scorer who’s fierce side-foot was brilliantly tipped over by Grant Shenton.
This missed chance proved to be even more costly three minutes later as the ten men of Trafford equalised.
Mark Derbyshire’s shot ricocheted fortunately for substitute Kingsley Williams who rifled into the roof of the net from twelve yards.
The home side were quick to regroup and galvanise as they tried to grab the lead back.
Corey Roper had two bites of the cherry a couple minutes later when Greening’s free-kick was flicked down by Corner and Roper’s initial effort was kept out by Shenton and volleyed his second attempt over the mark from close range.
Less than a minute later and another good opportunity was squandered by Tad.
Roper did well to shift out to Murray on the left who drove into the penalty area before finding Tom Corner who could only poke agonisingly wide.
Chris Howarth then tried to outfox the Trafford stopper Shenton who read the full-back’s effort from a tight angle.
The final chance of the contest incidentally fell to the away side as Aaron Burns’ cross down the corridor of uncertainty went right across the face untouched and the spoils were shared.
