A sloppy second half saw Taddy fall to defeat at Radcliffe Borough securing their first points of the season.

It was a positive start from Michael Morton's side taking the lead after eleven minutes.

Danny Frost pressurised the home side into giving up possession in a dangerous area which allowed Aiden Savory to fire in his fifth goal of the season.

Borough went into the break a goal down but were on level terms shortly after the hour mark.

Conor Sellars was adjudged to have pulled down the onrushing Radcliffe man and Tom Owens stepped up and converted the spot-kick.

Owens netted his second just over ten minutes later when he executed a diving header leaving Murphy with no chance.

And it was all but over three minutes later as a long ball over the top wasn't dealt with by goalkeeper or defender and substitute Brendan Glackin pounced and curled into the net.

The Brewers piled on the pressure in the final ten minutes and did in fact pull one back in stoppage time when defender Andy Milne turned in a rebound.

Manager Michael Morton welcomed Pete Davidson back into the side along with Joel Dixon, Aaron Hardy and Sam Akeroyd.

Charlie Murphy deputised in place of the injured Michael Ingham.

Taddy, who were looking for three back-to-back victories started the game positively as Aiden Savory went close twice in the opening ten minutes.

However it wasn't long before Savory did break the deadlock.

Frost's fierce pressing forced Tserpes to give up the ball and allow the striker to drive into the penalty area.

Frost fed Savory who arrowed a left-foot shot into the bottom corner - his fifth of the season.

The home side had to wait until the 17 minute mark to have their first effort of the encounter as Peers dragged wide of the mark.

Disappointment was etched all over Pete Davidson's face after 25 minutes as the midfielder, who was making his return to action, had to be withdrawn with a reoccurrence of a hamstring injury.

Corey Roper was introduced but Taddy couldn't keep up the intensity shown in the first quarter of an hour with Borough fighting back.

Stand-in stopper Charlie Murphy was called into action twice as the half approached it's conclusion as the young goalkeeper brilliantly flew to his left to tip over the bar.

Half-Time: Radcliffe 0-1 Taddy

Taddy starting second halves slowly have been a problem this season and it was prominent again as Radcliffe looked the most likely to strike next.

Shortly after the hour mark, the home side were awarded a penalty kick after Conor Sellars was adjudged to have brought down Carl Peers.

Peers drove in-field at pace from the right-hand touchline but there was virtually no contact from the Tadcaster player.

Nevertheless Tom Owens stepped up and sent Murphy the wrong way to make it one a piece.

Radcliffe turned it right around in the 74th minute as Stavros Tserpes’ dangerous ball into the box was met by an unmarked Tom Owens to head in his second of the afternoon.

Three minutes later and Borough extended their lead on the counter attack.

In truth it was a goal that should never have been a chance.

As Taddy pushed for a way back into the contest, Radcliffe cleared their lines with a long punt forward and went 3-1 up.

Indecision from Murphy allowed substitute Brendan Glackin to pounce onto the loose ball, control and just squeeze a shot past Andy Milne who was covering on the line.

As expected, Albion threw everything at their opponents in the final ten minutes as Murray side-footed wide, Roper was kept out along with Danny Frost.

But Taddy did pull one back in the first minute of stoppage as Savory’s bullet header was remarkably kept out by Ryan Jones but Andy Milne was in the right place at the right time to turn into the empty net.

And virtually straight from the restart, Milne was heavily involved again as he found himself racing down the left-hand side after being given the nod to go cause problems up front.

Milne fired down the corridor of uncertainty but Jones stuck out a foot and diverted out of the path of the waiting Frost to see out the result.
