After some good centre forward play by Carlos Djalo, Tom Corner drove in his sixteenth goal of the season from Jordan Armstrong’s cross.
Despite being in the ascendency in the first forty five, Taddy went in to the break behind after an unlucky own goal and a Phil Dean tap in saw Colne take the lead.
The Reds held off the Brewers at the start of the second half before Mark Ayres headed in and a controversial second from Phil Dean wrapped up the points for the Lancashire based outfit.
Taddy boss Billy Miller was able to name the same starting line-up for a second consecutive match, a rare feat this season.
On a scorching afternoon in the Lancashire sunshine Taddy started much the brighter and took an early lead after just eight minutes.
Portuguese striker Carlos Djalo did brilliantly to out-power Lee Pugh and find a way out of the corner to Jordan Armstrong.
Armstrong clipped in a cross from the right-hand side to which Rob Youhill left and top scorer Tom Corner made no mistake striking through goalkeeper Greg Hartley from eleven yards.
However the lead lasted a mere five minutes as a corner was flicked on at the near post and bounced into the net off a hapless Taddy head.
The pitch at the XLCR stadium holds an incredible slope and despite the home side kicking down the hill in the first half, Taddy were certainly on top in the contest being first to the majority of balls.
Tom Corner was proving to be a menace for defenders as per usual and the towering striker persisted on shooting on sight but saw effort after effort blocked and deflected.
After a number of quarter chances (if that’s a thing) for both sides, Colne nudged ahead right on the final attack of the half.
Youhill’s switch of play towards Liam Shepherd was cut out and pounced upon by the Reds as Adam Morning was released in behind and the lively forward nudged past goalkeeper Chandler Hallwood.
Morning’s touch took him just too wide of the post but was able to tee up Phil Dean for a tap in.
Into the second half and Albion continued to play on the front foot with Rob Youhill almost bursting beyond goalkeeper Hartley seconds after the restart.
However it was talisman Tom Corner who continued to threaten Colne’s lead with three powerful strikes at goal, the third of the three almost wickedly deflecting into the bottom corner.
Taddy were forced to reshuffle thirteen minutes into the half when Captain Gregg Anderson took a knock to his ankle. This saw Jason Mycoe come on into midfield and Dan Thirkell drop back into defence alongside Josh Barrett.
Albion, now kicking down the slope, were looking increasingly likely to score the next goal as that man Corner went agonisingly close to his and Tad’s second when his poked effort whistled inches wide of the mark.
But as is the case in so many football matches in any division, if you don’t score when in the ascendency, you will more often than not be punished.
Colne rode the Taddy storm at the start of the half and scored a crucial third goal to open up a two goal deficit.
A corner curled in from the right-hand side was powerfully headed into the back of the net by defender Mark Ayres.
This deflated Miller’s men as the Reds roared on by their vocal support only grew in confidence.
They should have had a fourth a minute later but substitute Jason Hart couldn’t keep his composure firing off target after being set away by Spencer Jordan.
The third goal for the home side seemed to be the killer for Tadcaster as Colne ramped up the pressure.
Phil Dean’s superb bending free-kick was well kept out by Hallwood before a goal mouth scramble was somehow thumped over the bar from close range.
The victory for Steve Cunningham’s side was made certain twelve minutes from time, somewhat controversially however.
Phil Dean looked to be a good few yards offside at least but surprisingly the flag was never raised and Dean ran through on goal and confidently tucked away his second of the afternoon.
In the end it was certainly a score line that flattered the home side, to which they agreed, but nevertheless Colne have momentum on their side as they jump up to third place in the division.
