Billy Miller made four changes to the side that lost to Kendal as Dan Thirkell made his full debut, Gary Stevens made his second debut for the club and Conor Sellars was back in the starting eleven along with Liam Shepherd.
On a mild afternoon at the i2i, The Brewers dominated possession and kept the ball well in the opening quarter of an hour but again, such has the theme been in the past few weeks, created virtually nothing.
Jason Mycoe’s unchallenged drive across the face of goal was pretty much the highlight of a very uneventful first half.
Burscough did have a shot in the first half however, with that being said it did end up in the car-park as Elliott Nevitt unbelievably curled a free-kick way over the main stand.
Taddy were getting the most joy down their right-hand side as full-back Mycoe received the ball deep in the oppositions half time and time again.
When winger Adam Baker marauded in down that same flank, Liam Shepherd’s carefully placed shot was blocked by Ryan Schofield.
The second half started in similar fashion to the first, Taddy in control and peppering the right-hand side.
Having said that, Billy Miller’s men did look more buoyant and threatening after the break.
The first big chance of the match came minutes after the hour mark as Adam Baker guided onto the head of Tom Corner who headed narrowly over the mark.
Burscough, who currently sit bottom of the Evo-Stik Division One North were being put under serious pressure in the second forty five but continued to defend well as Reece McNally brilliantly blocked Conor Sellars’ goal bound short.
Every teasing cross that came into the Greens’ danger area was cleared superbly by Schofield and co.
In the 68th minute the aforementioned Schofield was at it again. Josh Grant did brilliantly to nip between two green shirt and fire a cross down the corridor but Schofield took it off the toe of Jason Mycoe who was waiting to tap past debutant Marcus Burgess.
Tom Corner was proving to be a real menace in the air, for the umpteenth time this season as Burscough struggled to deal with the towering forward. Corner came close to breaking the deadlock once again but could only arrow his header onto the roof of the net before heading straight at Burgess moments later.
Gary Stevens didn't have much to do at all on his second debut for The Brewers but when called upon, his kicking and catching was very good.
Corner had the beating of the Burscough enforces but with fifteen minutes to go that same player glanced inches wide of the left-hand upright as frustration grew around the i2i stadium.
It was complete one-way traffic and in the dying seconds Taddy were shouting loud for a penalty. Schofield failed to deal with Mycoe’s forward ball and Adam Baker pounced and superbly jinked between McNally and Hill before squaring past goalkeeper Burgess towards Sellars.
Sellars went for the cryuff finish but a lunge from Keenan Quansah saw massive protests for a penalty however referee Shane Sugden profusely waved away the appeals and that was the final piece of action.
