Billy Miller made five changes to the side that lost at Farsley Celtic on Bank Holiday Monday.
Goalkeeper Chandler Hallwood and winger Erico Sousa both made their debuts for the club with Jono Greening, Josh Greening and Carl Stewart all returning to the starting eleven.
An early goal for the Brewers would have issued calm around the i2i stadium after a turbulent past few weeks.
And that goal really should have come inside ten minutes when debutant Erico Sousa jinked inside and clipped a perfect cross onto the head of Carl Stewart who could only guide wide of the mark.
New signing Erico Sousa certainly injected a dose of pure pace and direct energetic wing-play into Taddy's game.
The Portuguese attacker was the creator once again for the next big chance firing into Josh Greening who couldn't beat the goalkeeper with a near-post volley.
There was little between the two Counties Champions in the first half play but the difference came to the forefront five minutes from the break when Colne took their one big chance.
After some good hold up play by powerful striker Sefton Gonzales, a dinked cross by Joseph Garvin from the left was met by captain Simon Nangle with a determined diving header.
A half-time knock saw Jordan Armstrong come on for Jason Mycoe in a like-for-like change at the break.
The Brewers came out in the second half with their feet firmly pressed down on the accelerator.
Five minutes in and Taddy squandered another headed opportunity.
Josh Greening somehow found himself unmarked on the penalty spot but he could only head the corner kick wide of the left hand upright.
Taddy were throwing everything at their Lancastrian opponents and they finally found a way through half way through the second forty five with that bit of luck that's been missing.
Carl Stewart's low driven free-kick from the edge of the penalty area took a wicked deflection off the wall leaving Colne stopper Nosakhare Aghayere with no chance.
However, just when you thought Miller's men could go on at this point and take charge, the visitors retook the lead a mere four minutes later.
Lynch did brilliantly driving up the by-line and pulling back to Oliver Wood who turned in low at the near post.
Back to square one it was for the Brewers who had it all to do once again after pushing ferociously for the equaliser in the first place.
Debutant keeper Chandler Hallwood showed his class and kept his new side in it with a fine save to deny Wood his second.
Taddy continued to huff and puff but that was as far as it went in the end.
In stoppage time Josh Greening and Tom Allan both saw their shots blocked in what were the only sightings at goal in the final part of the match.
