On Saturday The Brewers travel to strugglers Nostell Miners Welfare as they look to bounce back after fifth defeat of the season.
Taddy go into the game on the back of a disappointing loss at home to Clipstone on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday evening Handsworth Parramore replaced The Brewers at the top of the league with an impressive 6-2 victory over Staveley Miners Welfare, although Taddy still have a game in hand over The Ambers.
Taddy will be looking for an immediate reaction at Nostell on Saturday, these are the kind of games that you must pick up three points in if you are going to push on and become champions.
The Welfare currently sit in a worrying 21st place in the NCEL Premier Division and a win could see them move out of the relegation zone. However having said that, they have played more games than most around them, especially bottom side Liversedge who have seven games in hand.
In their last six outings Nostell have taken three points from a possible eighteen after draws against Pontefract Collieries, Parkgate and Garforth Town.
The main reason as to why Nostell are lumbering low in 21st place is clearly because they struggle to hit the back of the net. The Welfare are the league’s lowest scorers with just 33 goals from 35 games with the top scorer accumulating a mere four goals.
The two sides met for the first time this season back in October with Taddy running out comfortable 4-0 winners. Liam Ormsby (2), Matt Heath and Jimmy Beadle scored the all-important goals.
Team News: Boss Billy Miller has been fairly lucky throughout the season with only a few injuries to deal with, until now that is. Josh Barrett, Gary Stevens, Jordan Armstrong and Matt Heath were all missing in the midweek loss to Clipstone due to injury.
Gary Stevens and Jordan Armstrong are set to return on Saturday whereas Josh Barrett is expected to be out for up to 2-3 weeks.
Prediction: Nostell Miners Welfare 0-4 Tadcaster Albion – Nostell are struggling at the wrong end of the table and after a disappointing loss to Clipstone in midweek, I expect The Brewers to show off their bouncebackability.
We are running a mini bus for the match, but if you are making your own way there the postcode is WF4 1LB.
Elsewhere on Saturday; Handsworth Parramore entertain Athersley Recreation, Worksop Town make the trip to Barton Town Old Boys and Cleethorpes Town take on Pontefract Collieries.
