On Saturday, The Brewers play their first ‘home’ league game of 2016 against Worksop Town for the third time this season. The game is being played at Selby Town due to the problems caused by the recent flooding.
On Wednesday evening, The Tigers had a big 8-1 win at home against Garforth Town, The Miners consolation goal coming from George Conway who scored his second goal for them in 2 games. This puts Worksop Town 4 points clear at the top of the NCEL Premier League table. They are 8 points ahead of The Brewers having played 4 games more. They are the NCEL Premier League's leading scorers with 89 goals from their 26 games played. In 2016, they have taken 13 points from 5 games played, scoring 20 goals in those games.
Worksop Town this season have taken 29 points from 12 away games. Their leading goalscorer is Kyle Jordan with 27 goals in all competition, although Matthew Booth is in great form with 2 hat tricks in the last 2 league games. Back in October, the reverse game at Worksop Town was won 2-1 by Tadcaster Albion with the goals coming from Nick Black and Jason Mycoe in front of a crowd of 879.
The Brewers and The Tigers also met in the FA Vase back in December in which Taddy ran out comfortable 4-1 winners with Josh Barrett, Adam Baker (2) and Nick Black all getting on the score sheet.
Team News: Jason Mycoe is expected to slot back into midfield after receiving a kick in the face against Brigg and other than that it will be a full strength Taddy side.
Elsewhere in the NCEL Premier League on Saturday, Bridlington Town are at home to Staveley Miners Welfare, Handsworth Parramore are at home to Pontefract Collieries, whilst Cleethorpes Town are at home in FA Vase action. I predict a cracking game between Tadcaster and Worksop with The Brewers just coming out on top 3-2. Finally, a big Thank You to all at Selby Town for agreeing to host the game and all their hard work in getting the game played
