On Wednesday evening The Brewers make the short trip to Pontefract Collieries.
Taddy go into the game on the back of a terrific 4-1 win over title rivals Worksop Town last Saturday therefore should be full of confidence.
Taddy currently sit in 4th place in the NCEL Premier Division, five points off current leaders Worksop Town (With 4 games in hand), four points off Bridlington (With 5 games in hand) and three off Handsworth (With 2 games in hand) so a win for The Brewers tonight would see them move level on points with Handsworth Parramore.
Colls currently sit in 17th place in the NCEL Premier Division, eight points off bottom placed Liversedge however they have played several games more than the Sedge. A win for Ponte wouldn’t see them climb any places but would see them close in on Retford, Garforth and Athersley.
Colls have been in poor form as of late losing their last six matches against Staveley, Athersley, Parkgate, Worksop, Maltby Main and Handsworth Parramore respectively. Goals don’t seem to be a problem for Pontefract as they have only failed to score on two occasions in their last 16 outings. However, goals going in the other end are extremely common as they have conceded 47 goals in their last 16 matches and they would have to do something special to hold out Taddy’s attack for 90 plus minutes.
The two sides met for the first time this season back in September at the i2i Stadium and Taddy were victorious by two goals to nil. The Brewers had an incredible amount of chances in the match and Ponte contained them to just two goals, scored by Jimmy Beadle and Adam Baker.
Team News: No injury concerns for boss Billy Miller so he is likely to name an unchanged side to the one that beat Worksop Town 4-1 on Saturday.
Prediction: Pontefract Collieries 1-3 Tadcaster Albion – Beadle, Heath and Greening to get on the score sheet.
We aren’t running a coach for the match, but we hope to see plenty of you in attendance as it is only a 40 minute drive, your postcode for the ground is WF8 4QE. #tadallover
