On Saturday The Brewers make the trip to Rotherham to face Parkgate for their first league match since the 14th November.
Taddy go into the game looking to get back to winning ways after disappointingly crashing out of the FA Vase on Tuesday night away at Sunderland RCA. With full focus now on the league and promotion, Tadcaster will be keen to get back to winning ways and staying top of the league.
The Steelmen currently sit in 21st place in the NCEL Premier Division, just four points off bottom placed Brigg Town however they do hold two games in hand over the Humberside based club. A win for Parkgate could see them climb up to 18th place but all in all they won’t be happy with their current position in the division therefore will be hungry to do the double over The Brewers come Saturday at 3pm.
Parkgate are currently in extremely bad form losing their last eight consecutive matches. Their last league victory came all the way back in September and this was a 3-2 away win over Armthorpe Welfare.
The two sides have already met early on in the season and The Steelmen came away from the i2i stadium with a shock victory. Taddy were cruising in the game 3-1 up however the game began to stretch and Parkgate’s Oliver Graham completed his hat-trick in the dying seconds to win them the match 4-3 so revenge is needed this time around.
In the two meetings last season it was Taddy who came out on top winning both matches. The fixture at the i2i stadium was a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Josh Greening and Carl Stewart for The Brewers and the match in Rotherham was a comfortable 4-1 victory.
Team News: Conor Sellars and Andy Milne were back amongst the group on Tuesday night but not involved, they are expected to be named back in the squad, Milne may come into the team after Gregg Anderson popped his shoulder on Tuesday which is a recurring problem. Jason Mycoe came off with a slight niggle but should be okay to start, other than that it is a full strength Tadcaster side that will make the trip to Rotherham.
JT Predicts: Parkgate 0-4 Tadcaster Albion – The Brewers to bounce back with a bang against a struggling Parkgate side as we enter the festive period.
We aren’t running a coach for the match, but we hope to see plenty of you in attendance, your postcode for the ground is S62 6LA #tadallover
