On Wednesday evening The Brewers make the trip to Chesterfield to face Staveley Miners Welfare looking to extend their winning run to eight matches.
Taddy go into the game in superb form winning their last seven straight matches putting them in pole position for the title with fifteen games to go. The Brewers sit two points clear of second place Bridlington Town with four games in hand, three points ahead of Worksop Town with three games in hand and five points clear of Handsworth Parramore who are the only chasing side to have played the same amount of games as Taddy.
Staveley currently sit in a healthy 7th place in the NCEL Premier Division. A win for the Trojans could see them move up one place into 6th. In their last six matches they have won two, drawn two and lost two.
Kieron Watson is the Trojans’ top scorer with an impressive 21 goals for the campaign, closely followed by Courtney Hastings on 19. The attackers will have to have their wits about them as they come up against the joint best defence in the division, conceding an average of just 1.19 goals a game. The Brewers also have the second best attack in the league therefore The Trojans will have to fight like their Nickname sake if they are to keep out the potent Taddy forwards.
The two sides met for the first time this season back in August at the i2i Stadium where The Brewers battled hard to run out 2-0 winners. Defender Andy Milne put Tadcaster in front in the first half with a brave header before the three points were finally signed sealed and delivered in the final few minutes as Adam Baker ran clear and hammered into the back of the net.
Prediction: Staveley Miners Welfare 1-2 Tadcaster Albion – Staveley is never an easy place to go, just as The Brewers proved last season losing 2-1. It’ll be an extremely tight encounter just like the first meeting this season but I predict Taddy to score late on, again. Scarborough lads Beadle and Greening to make it eight consecutive wins.
We are running a mini bus for the match, but if you are making your own way there the postcode is S43 3JL. #tadallover
