Match Preview - Barton Town Old Boys vs Tadcaster Albion
NCEL Premier Division, Saturday 26th September 2015
On Saturday, The Brewers play their final game of September as they continue their NCEL Premier campaign with a trip to Humberside to face Barton Town Old Boys.
The Swans have started the season in positive fashion, currently poised nicely in 6th place with 16 points from 9 games played.
Their last 3 league games has seen them lose to Handsworth Parramore (1-0) after beating Parkgate (3-0) and Pontefract Collieries (3-1).
Overall Barton have won 5, drawn 1 and lost 3 so it will be a difficult match away from home for The Brewers, especially as The Swans have the second best defensive record in the division just behind Handsworth Parramore.
Taddy are currently top of the NCEL Premier Division however Worksop Town do still have a game in-hand. Tad have accumulated 26 points from 11 games whereas Worksop have 24 from 10 so another win for The Brewers would put the spotlight back onto The Tigers.
Taddy's current form is superb having only been beaten once and only drawing twice in the league so far this season with them winning the rest.
Ones to look out for are Gareth Owen and Scott Phillips who both have 5 netted goals each so far this season therefore will need to be kept quiet by Taddy's experienced back line.
The last time these two sides met saw the Old Boys run out 3-2 winners, Andy Milne and Liam Ormsby scoring for The Brewers. Taddy's home fixture against The Swans last season resulted in the same score line but a win for the Albion. It was the opening match of the 2014/15 season and goals from George Bissett, Josh Greening and Calum Ward saw them get off to the perfect start.
The postcode for your Satnav's is DN18 5JD, we hope to see plenty of the Taddy army out in force again.
Prediction: Barton Town Old Boys 1-2 Tadcaster Albion - George Conway to get amongst the goals again
