Taddy got back to winning ways at Liversedge on Saturday as an early red card to Andrew Wood all but ended the contest as The Brewers stormed to a comfortable victory. Jimmy Beadle got things started with a low drive from the edge of the area and was followed by Dan Clayton heading in his first goal for the club. George Conway got on the score sheet in the second half with a luscious lob and Adam Baker netted the fourth with a confident finish as The Brewers remain in touching distance of league leaders Worksop Town.
Manager Billy Miller made two changes to the draw at Armthorpe Welfare as Adam Baker and Josh Barrett came in for Josh Greening and the suspended Jordan Armstrong.
Both teams started the match positively but it was Adam Baker in the yellow of Tadcaster who had the first chance of the afternoon with a blast from 20 yards which was tipped over by Liam Scott-Bell in the Sedge goal.
The home side's first opportunity arose just four minutes later as a long ball forward caused some confusion at the back as Gary Stevens called "Keeps" but Paddy Miller chose to clear himself and Kieran Carley went for it with Stevens out of his goal but incidentally the shot flew over the mark.
12 minutes in and the match took a huge twist as Andrew Wood was shown a straight red card for Liversedge after a wild lunge on Tad centre-half Andy Milne. The referee appeared to have made his mind up immediately as he sprinted towards the altercation and pulled out the red card from his rear pocket.
This was to make things incredibly difficult for the home side as expected and it was down to Tadcaster now to go and win the match with the man advantage.
It didn't take long for Taddy to break the deadlock after the red card as Jimmy Beadle opened the scoring half-way through the first half. It should have been in the back of the net long before it was as firstly play was shifted along to Dan Clayton who was put through one-on-one but his shot was stopped, Clayton then retrieved the ball and dinked in to George Conway who struck it first-time on the volley which again was saved but eventually Jimmy Beadle stroked it home from the edge of the penalty area to give the Brewers the perfect platform to build upon.
Sedge's young goalkeeper was to be extremely busy across the course of the match and was called into action once again as Dan Clayton exquisitely controlled the ball and struck powerfully however it was at the right height and comfortably palmed away.
It was completely one-way traffic as expected with a man difference and shortly after it was 2-0 to Taddy. Adam Baker well and truly thundered past the Sedge full-back and chipped in perfectly to Dan Clayton who powered home his first goal for the club with a header.
Half-Time: Liversedge 0-2 Tadcaster Albion
Into the second half and the contest was over already and everyone in the ground knew it however five minutes into the half Sedge's Kieran Corley pulled a shot just wide of the mark.
It was certainly a case of 'how many' for Tad as Andy Milne headed just wide and Adam Baker forced another good save from Scott-Bell.
Just past the hour mark and Tad had their third as George Conway was sent clean through and he just guided the bouncing ball over the goalkeeper to perfectly nestle into the back of the net.
It was pretty much attack vs defence for the majority of the second half however the home side did continue to commit men forward and credit to Sedge for that but it was 4-0 to the Brewers just five minutes later as Adam Baker was played through this time and he never looked like missing as he curled the ball past the goalkeeper.
Tadcaster Albion could have scored a hat full in the last twenty minutes if their finishing was better as chance after chance came around but in the end these opportunities were wasted.
The home side did come close to a couple of consolations as Ryan Woodhead and Paddy Miller had to be alert to clear goal bound shots off the line however it finished 4-0 as the early red card ruined the contest between two good sides.
