On Saturday afternoon, The Brewers travel to Clipstone (near to Mansfield) for their 2nd away NCEL Premier game of the campaign. Last season, Clipstone were promoted from the NCEL Division 1 as champions winning 30 of their 42 games played. This season they have 10 points from 5 games played which sees them sit in a competitive 7th place. This means that they are 5 points behind The Brewers with a game in hand. Last weekend, they knocked Cleethorpes Town out of the FA Cup and their best result of the season to date is probably their 3-2 win at Worksop Town, so their form is good. Their highest home attendance in the league so far has been 102 against Liversedge on the opening day of the season.
There are only 2 other games being played in the NCEL Premier on Saturday, but they are both significant games. You would expect Worksop Town to have a good victory at Armthorpe Welfare, whilst the dangerous Cleethorpes Town, without a point so far this term from 3 games, really need to kick start their season with a win at home to Athersley Recreation. If you are travelling to the Clipstone game, Your Sat Nav code is NG21 9AB and the cost of admission for adults is £4. There is a coach going to the game at £10 a head, please ring Emma on 01904 606000 if you are interested. The Cobras will be tough opposition for The Brewers and I will go for a 2-2 draw.
