After a less than eventful first half, Cam Murray broke the deadlock two minutes into the second forty five after confidently clipping beyond Callum Jakovlevs.
Silsden weren’t behind for long however as they drew level five minutes later through Christopher Wademan.
But it was the Brewers who netted the all-important third goal, Andy Milne turning in from a corner kick five minutes from time to set up a tough Quarter-Final tie against full-timers Guiseley.
Michael Morton made seven changes to the team that won at Glossop on Saturday with U21’s defender Harry Sheppeard making his first senior start.
Sam Akeroyd, Andy Milne, Greg Hartley, Adam Baker, Casey Stewart and Aaron Hardy were all handed starts for the cup tie.
Taddy were quick to test Callum Jakovlevs in the Silsden goal as the former Burnley youth player pushed away an Adam Baker shot before holding Aiden Savory’s tame follow-up.
The visitors sent their own tame effort on target mid-way through the half when Kyle Hancock was sent clear down the left-hand side but he couldn’t test Greg Hartley in the Taddy goal.
U21’s talisman Casey Stewart threatened to unlock the door on a number of occasions and in fact did everything but 37 minutes in when he brilliantly touched away from his marker before driving across the face of goal with Savory inches away.
The Keighley based side had won every single game they had played until last Saturday, and they came the closest to opening the scoring in the final five minutes of the half.
Arley Barnes forced Greg Hartley to shift quickly to his right and make a smart save.
Three minutes later and Barnes went even closer to the opener. Joseph Gaughan cut back to Barnes on the edge of the box who, running onto the ball, side-footed firmly into the outside of the post with Hartley rooted to the spot.
Half-Time: Taddy 0-0 Silsden
Whatever messrs Morton and Collins said at the half-time interval, it worked as Albion took the lead two minutes into the second half.
Josh Greening was introduced at the break after Adam Baker picked up a knock and it was Greening who picked out an unmarked Cam Murray who simply helped beyond the onrushing Jakovlevs.
Taddy came out flying out the blocks in the second half and came close to making it two after five minutes as Savory cushioned down for Greening who volleyed narrowly over.
However, despite Albion’s promising start, Silsden equalised just seven minutes into the half. Kyle Hancock’s swirling strike from range was batted down by Greg Hartley but only to Christopher Wademan who turned into the back of the net.
The second forty five was certainly making up for the lack of chances in the first half as Tadcaster should have retaken the lead in the 55th minute.
Casey Stewart showed incredible pace to retrieve the ball on the left-hand flank before Savory cushioned his cross perfectly into the path of Cam Murray who turned wide from eight yards.
It should have been 2-1, but it could have in fact been 1-2 less than sixty seconds later when Silsden top scorer Joseph Gaughan got a run on Andy Milne but could only head just over.
The North West Counties Division One high-flyers were clearly confident as Kyle Hancock let fly from almost identical range to where the goal came about but Hartley pushed clear this time.
As the cup tie wore old on a mild evening on Ings Lane, Taddy began to put their opponents under increasing pressure pushing them back towards their own goal.
The introduction of Greening, Tom Corner and Conor Sellars certainly bolstered the Brewers in the final part of the contest.
18 year-old Harry Sheppeard was impressing on his senior debut showcasing his blistering pace and positivity by beating his opposite number time and time again.
Greening was the stand-out though as he set up the winning goal as well as the opener.
His in-swinging corner kick was met on the bounce by skipper Andy Milne who fired into the bottom corner to send Tadcaster into the next round.
