Tadcaster named the same side that beat Bamber Bridge at the weekend with Josh Greening and Tom Corner continuing to lead the line.
Ex-Brewer Adam Baker was ineligible to face his former side due to being cup tied.
It was Baker’s former club that started on the front foot with Josh Greening firing narrowly inside ten minutes.
Taddy were all over their opponents in the first 25 minutes; being first to every ball, hungrier, and it only seemed a matter of time before Billy Miller’s side took control of the cup tie.
In the first league meeting between the two sides earlier in the season, Brighouse goalkeeper Tommy Taylor was inspired in earning his side a point and he was in fine form once again.
Rob Youhill teed up Dan Thirkell on the edge of the box whose ferocious strike was brilliantly tipped over the bar by the Brighouse number one.
However, it was the home side who broke the deadlock six minutes later completely against the run of play.
The Brewers failed to clear Dugdale’s free-kick and former Mossley forward Mike Fish was on-hand at the back post to turn into the net.
The goal failed to rock Taddy’s rhythm though as they continued to put the home side under constant pressure.
Eleven minutes from the break and Taylor was at his best once again, reacting sharply to push Gregg Anderson’s bullet header to safety.
Despite the goal, Chandler Hallwood was untroubled in the Taddy goal with Tom Dugdale’s dipping free-kick not quite dropping enough to hit the target as Brighouse took a slender lead into half-time.
Into the second half and the Brewers simply continued where they left off in the first; lots of possession and neat build-up play with only the final ball lacking.
But Taddy did deservedly level the cup tie half-way through the second half as Josh Greening’s corner dropped kindly for Josh Barrett who fired into the back of the net leaving Taylor with no chance.
Less than two minutes later Brighouse thought they were given the perfect opportunity to respond as referee Andy Smith looked to point to the penalty spot.
Barrett was hesitant at first to put the tackle in on the fast moving forward before taking his opportunity and putting in a hard sliding tackle.
The assistant referee pointed for a corner with no second thoughts however, the man in the middle waited a good six seconds before pointing to the penalty spot.
As expected Taddy were outraged at the decision and insisted that he consulted with his official.
That he did and eventually, after a lengthy consultation, a corner was the outcome.
Brighouse then began to vent their anger at the officials.
Premier League referee Bobby Madley was in attendance at the Dual Seal Stadium, that would have been interesting to get his thoughts on the ‘debacle’.
With time slowly ticking away and a penalty shoot-out looming, both teams gave it their all to nudge in front and secure their place in the County Cup Final.
Town threw plenty of dangerous balls into Taddy’s box but the likes of Gregg Anderson and Josh Barrett were resolute and positionally sound time and time again.
Full-back Kurt Harris played a lovely one-two down the right to get in behind the Brewers but Hallwood was on-hand to stop the driven cross.
But in the end it was Taddy who struck late on to reach a second cup final in two seasons.
Carl Stewart had only been on the pitch a handful of minutes before putting the Brewers in front with a brilliant solo goal.
Stewart delicately lifted the ball over captain Adam Field, pushed it through the legs of Harris before emphatically beating Tom Taylor with his weaker left-foot.
Despite a few late scares, Tadcaster held on to reach the West Riding County Cup Final where they will play either Bradford Park Avenue or Farsley Celtic.
