On Saturday, The Brewers play their second match of the season in the FA Vase as we travel north to face Sunderland RCA.
This will be Taddy’s second consecutive match in the FA Vase competition due to severe flooding on the pitch down at the i2i Stadium.
The draw for the Second Round wasn’t particularly kind to Taddy as we were drawn against fellow promotion chasers in the NCEL, Worksop Town.
However, with that being said there was only one winner when the tie finally took place as Tadcaster cruised to a 4-1 victory over The Tigers after a phenomenal performance.
Sunderland RCA plays their league football in the EBAC Northern League Division One and currently sit in 8th place which is impressive bearing in mind the tough nature of the league.
Morpeth Town are the leaders of this specific division with 42 points whereas RCA have accumulated 30 points from their 19 games played consisting of 8 victories, 6 draws and 5 losses so far this season.
Sunderland RCA will be playing their fourth game in the FA Vase on Saturday; firstly they beat NCEL side Bridlington Town 3-2, then they won 4-2 away at NWCFL side Silsden and finally Sunderland won away again this time at Hemsworth MW 5-1.
Team News – The Brewers should have a full squad to choose from for the trip to Sunderland, Josh Greening is likely to come back into the starting eleven after missing the previous tie due to work commitments.
Matches against Northern League opposition are never easy but on current form it’s difficult to look past The Brewers.
JT’s Prediction: Sunderland RCA 2-4 Tadcaster Albion – Taddy’s attacking prowess to be the difference for me with Greening, Black and Beadle all to get on the scoresheet.
For all those making the trip in cars, the postcode is SR2 0NZ
