On Monday night we welcomed Evo-Stik Division One North outfit Farsley Celtic to the i2i stadium for a spot of Monday Night Football (Pre-Season Style).
Taddy boss Billy Miller made four changes to the side that beat Oldham Athletic U18's with George Bissett, Adam Baker, David Brown & Joe Thornton all back in from the start.
With temperatures meandering over 20 degrees it was another glorious evening in Costa Del Tad.
As we got underway Adam Baker's return to the starting eleven didn't last long as he received a nasty knock to the face in which he broke his nose and therefore had to be replaced by Calum Ward.
All in all the first half had very little noteworthy moments. Beadle saw his strike easily caught, Ormsby hit the target with a free-kick and also, there was a lot of offsides.
Into the second half and thankfully a lot more goal mouth action with chances were involved. The Brewers carved out the best chance of the game on 56 minutes. A risky pass across Farsley's own back line allowed Saturday's Man of the Match George Conway to pounce onto as he then cuts inside but smashes his shot just wide.
The home side were massively improved going forward in the second half and created another brilliant chance just moments later. Liam Ormsby who was playing in an unorthodox right back position played a fabulous curling pass down the line to Calum Ward who plays it across to Brown who then incidentally slots Ward back in but his poked effort is well thwarted.
Albion were upping the gears as the 'Ken Gilbertson Stand' tried to urge the ball home and it nearly happened a couple of minutes later as a cross is cleared out to the charging Jimmy Beadle who's blistering strike is again well blocked.
The visitors rode this Taddy storm and almost took the lead themselves as some good work down the left allowed the attacker to round Stevens who had come on for Lawrie and shoot goal wards however George Bissett was well positioned and he had to hook it off the line to keep it goalless.
The Brewers conjured up one final chance as substitute Danny Gray battled extremely hard and Ward squeezed it through to Conway who's low shot again was well stopped.
FULL-TIME: Tadcaster Albion 0-0 Farsley Celtic
Another good test for the lads who who were impressive throughout especially second half against a strong Farsley side who play their trade in the division above Albion.
