“I’ve found it a good challenge and experience these last couple of weeks. I have had to be patient to get my chance in the team and keep pushing for a place but I’m just happy to have been given a chance by Mikey and Si and to be playing regularly over the past few games.”

Sheppeard caught the eye in front of the home fans for the first time in last week’s win over Glossop.

“It was a great experience and I enjoyed every minute of it, it’s a bonus that we played like we did getting the three points and picking up another clean sheet. Every game I’ve played in has been a great team performance and everyone has dug in and stuck together which is vital.”

“I am thankful to have been given the chance to play in the first-team however I have been working hard to get into the team all season and therefore I want to try and keep my place for as long as I can.”

“With me being 18 it makes me want to keep playing and gaining as much experience as I can and challenging myself in each game I play in.”

“The lads have really helped me settle in to the team and make me feel comfortable in the environment. Also, because they have a lot of experience themselves I can learn from them and take their advice on board as this can make me a better player.”
