Fresh from being the match winner at Clitheroe last week, midfielder Casey Stewart is starting to come into his own.

“I had to be very patient at the start of the season coming off the bench the odd time.”

“I am pleased with my own performances so far though, I just want to work hard and show what I’m about and do the best for the team.”

“I can’t be thankful enough to both Mikey & Si for giving me my chance.”

Stewart scored his first league goal for the Brewers last Saturday glancing home Conor Sellars’ free-kick to win the game.

“Obviously scoring is always a great feeling but to score my first league goal was an amazing feeling. For it to be the winning goal just made it special for me and I’d like to dedicate it to my dad.”

“The most important thing was the three points though.”

“I feel comfortable playing at this level, I’ve gone from playing Academy football to men’s football and there is a big difference but so far I feel comfortable.”

“I believe there’s a lot more to come from me, I’ve only started the last three games and I’m starting to get up to full speed.”

“Hopefully I can kick on now and contribute a lot more by scoring and creating goals.”

“We’ve been performing well in the past three away games, it’s very important that we carry on at home and bring a fear factor for teams coming to play us at Ings Lane.”

“We also want to see as many fans down as possible to watch us play exciting football as the ones that come every week are fantastic and I’m sure they’d like a lot more down to watch and cheer us on.”

Glossop North End are the visitors on Saturday and Stewart isn’t taking his eyes of the prize yet.

“Three points would be a massive boost in our quest for a play-off spot, if we can get the points then we will have taken six from Glossop which will be a big positive for us as they are a good team.”

“Me and the boys still believe play-offs is achievable, as long as we carry on our run and keep performing well.”
