On Monday night we revealed that Carl Stewart had re-signed for the club returning from Scarborough Athletic.

It just felt right coming back to the Brewers

And last night we spoke with the striker......

“The move back to Taddy came about when one of my mates mentioned it to me” said Stewart.

“A move back wasn’t really in the pipeline until very recently and the fact that it was taking me over an hour and a half to get to Bridlington pretty much made my mind up.”

“But the fact that Taddy is such a big club and only round the corner made the decision such an easy one for me, especially after last season, it just felt right coming back to the Brewers.”

Stewart is a fans favourite amongst the Taddy supporters and urges them to stand by the team.

“Well what can I say to the Tad fans. They don’t need any encouragement to get behind the lads because I heard them at the game against Ossett Town.”

“I just want them to stick with us because I know we will get it right and start to climb the league.”

“To the Acomb TSC, I don’t know if anything I say they will take seriously but I just want them to keep being class lads.”

After suffering a horrible cruciate injury last year, Stewart is now feeling fully fit and back to his free-flowing best.

“I am feeling very good about my own game. As you know I’ve been scoring goals and I just hope I can carry my form into the upcoming games for the Brewers.”

We asked Carl what he’s made of Taddy’s start to their debut season in the Evo-Stik Division One North.

“I thought Taddy started the season very well but have dropped off the pace slightly in recent weeks with a few shock results. But that’s probably why I’m here so we can get scoring a few more goals and winning games.”

Coincidentally, Taddy and rivals Scarborough meet on Boxing Day at the i2i stadium in a fiercely anticipated festive fixture that will undoubtedly pull in a fantastic crowd.

“Boxing Day will be very interesting. I just hope both sets of fans can come down and have a nice day and watch what will hopefully be a decent game of football.”

“And obviously a win for the Brewers!”
