Read what manager Billy Miller had to say in his most recent programme notes.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the i2i for today’s game against Brighouse Town. We hope Quinny, Ash and his players enjoy their stay and we wish them a safe journey home after the game.

After last Saturday’s bizarre loss at Prescot, we wanted a reaction against Ossett Town on Tuesday night and I am sure anyone who attended the game would have seen that reaction. But Football can be a cruel cruel game at times. We played some superb fast intricate attacking play but the only thing that was missing was getting the ball into the back of the net. We did absolutely everything but, Ossett cleared off the line three times, it was just one of them nights unfortunately and we have to put it behind us and go again.

The floodlight shenanigans beforehand clearly didn’t affect things on the pitch in terms of performance but it obviously didn’t help matters all round with preparation having to wait an hour not knowing what was going to follow. It was of course the same for both teams and credit to Grant and Ossett who held on for large parts but took their chance when it came late on.

Our squad is being put to the test recently with Gregg Anderson, Michael Ingham and Tom Corner struggling with injury and now Andy Milne away with work but I can assure you that we are working hard behind the scenes to bring players in and bolster our options.

We are pleased to welcome Jordan Armstrong back into the squad from North West Counties side Padiham. After several injuries to a number of players, Jordan has thankfully agreed to help us out and we will reassess in the next few weeks.

Finally, we would like to say thank you to everyone who has took time out to follow the team. Chatting with you at the games makes us appreciate the effort you all put in to get to the games. Much respect to you all...
