The forward has started the season in a rich vein of form scoring three goals in his last two outings including the winner against his former club.

“It was always going to be a strange one playing against Scarborough” said Corner.

“I loved my time there so it was always going to be a big game for me when the draw was made. The majority of the travelling fans were great with me which I appreciated.”

Taddy went in at half-time two goals down in the Preliminary Round FA Cup tie and deservedly so but Corner always felt the comeback was doable.

“We didn’t do ourselves any justice in the first half. I know how strong our team is and when we get it right we can give anyone a game so I knew it wouldn’t take much for us to get back in it."

"As soon as the first goal went in I had a feeling we’d win it.”

The forward went on to complete the turnaround in the 87th minute with a feint touch from six yards out.

“Scoring the winner in any game is a great feeling, but to do it in that manner and in the cup against a former team made it all the more special.”

“You couldn’t write the way it panned out.”

“We got closer to them in the second half, stopped them playing and were more clinical in possession. Just the simple things that we didn’t manage to do in the first half.”

“Strikers thrive off scoring goals and give anyone confidence so at the moment I’m loving my football. It’s a great club to be at and everyone has made me feel so welcome which I think reflects in my game.”

Corner’s partnership up front with Josh Greening is a double act that is really clicking with a goal and an assist for both on Saturday.

“The partnership comes naturally I think, we’ve clicked really well ever since I signed.”

“For a goalscorer like [Josh] is, he’s very unselfish which is a massive attribute. We both obviously want to score as many goals as possible but we always look to play each other in and I’m sure we can do really well together this season.”

Corner is also confident that the current squad of players can go on to have a successful campaign in The Brewers’ debut in the Evo-Stik Division One North.

“It’s a great squad with a great set of lads. One of the best I’ve been amongst.”

"It helps so much to have that feeling amongst the players, it can win you games, like Saturday showed.”

“There’s been a few new faces this year but they’ve all fit in really well. The more we are around each other in training and in games it can only get better.”

Taddy are back in league action on Saturday with a trip to Mossley (3:00pm).
