On Saturday The Brewers welcome local rivals Scarborough Athletic to the i2i stadium for an intriguing FA Cup Preliminary Round tie.

It is sure to be a high octane and fiercely contest FA Cup tie with no fewer than four ex-Brewers returning to the i2i. Tom Morgan, David Brown, Carl Stewart and Liam Ormsby are all in-line to feature for the Seadogs.

Steve Kittrick’s side have kicked off their Evo-Stik Division One North campaign with a draw and a defeat. On the opening day Athletic played out a goalless draw at home against Bamber Bridge before going down 3-0 in midweek at Clitheroe.

Last season the Seadogs finished in a very surprising 20th, one place above the relegation zone. However this is Kittrick’s first full season in charge and no doubt he will be targeting play-offs.

Taddy played their first ever home game in the Evo-Stik on Tuesday night and got off the mark with an impressive 3-0 victory over Ossett Albion.

Tom Corner scored the club’s first ever goal at the level with a somewhat dubious goal deflecting in Josh Greening’s pile driver.

Jimmy Beadle doubled The Brewers’ lead in the first half with an outstanding half volley into the top corner before Tom Corner grabbed his second and sealed the three points in the second half after tapping in Rob Youhill’s cross.

These two sides actually met in the same competition five years ago as Taddy ran out 3-0 winners at the 2 Inspire Park as it was known back then. Coincidentally, Carl Stewart was one of the scorers for The Brewers that day but this time around, he will be in the away changing room.

Team News: Jono Greening and Dan Thirkell will all be unavailable for selection along with Gregg Anderson who is away. Manager Billy Miller may opt to rotate the squad around slightly but may also be inclined to sticking with the same side that performed so well in the week.

Lewis Morgan is likely to come in and make his first start of the season to partner Andy Milne in central defence.

For Scarborough, former Brewer Carl Stewart is a doubt whereas David Brown is pushing for a start.

The winner of the tie will travel to either Pontefract Collieries or Bootle in the First Qualifying Round.
