The Brewers ramp up their pre-season exploits with a tough test against National League North side Boston United.

Taddy kicked off their campaign last week with a narrow defeat to Sheffield United U23’s before seeing off newly promoted Knaresborough Town 2-0 at York St John.

The introduction of experienced defenders Paddy Miller and Harry Coates has allowed Albion to try out a new 3-4-3 formation and both Morton and Collins were happy with how the lads have quickly adapted to the new shape. There were plenty of positives to take from the Sheffield United game, the only thing that was missing was a goal or two but with the signing of Joe Lumsden they are hoping these will soon come. Just hours later on the Saturday morning Taddy picked up a win against Knaresborough Town after putting in another impressive performance with Alex Metcalfe and Billy Whitehouse both on target.

The visitors are gearing up for another strong push in the sixth tier of the English pyramid after finishing in 9th place just missing out on play-offs by four points.

The Pilgrims have a vastly experienced squad including the likes of Ryan Qualter, John McCombe and Andi Thanoj who have all enjoyed many years plying their trade in the National League and higher.

Craig Elliott’s side began their pre-season with a 3-2 defeat at newly promoted Evo-Stik Premier side Basford United.

Team News: Joe Lumsden trained for the first time on Tuesday night and should feature. Chris Howarth, Fraser Papprill and Aaron Hardy are the only absentees as number one Michael Ingham returns.
