Read what Michael Morton and Simon Collins had to say in their first programme notes.

First of all we would like to welcome Darren Ferguson and his staff to the i2i stadium today for our first home game in charge of Tadcaster against Doncaster Rovers.

It was good to kick-off our tenor with a victory against Knaresborough Town last week. We had a lot of possession, I’m not so sure that will be the case today but it will be a great test for us against a League One side.

There are still lots of little things that we want to sharpen up on individually and collectively but that will come with more sessions and time with the lads.

It’s always important to hit the ground running because you can build up momentum in pre-season and then can carry that forward into the actual competitive season.

Obviously we are realists though and when we are playing the likes of Doncaster Rovers, Leeds United and Sheffield United it isn’t all that easy to gain momentum of course.

We’ve identified a few things from the Knaresborough game and have worked on trying to move the ball a bit quicker along with some twisting and turning drills.

We’ve only had four training sessions with the lads and they’ve taken on a lot of information on board but their attitude has been terrific and hopefully that continues throughout the season.

Today will be a really tough test for us but it’s one we are looking forward to, we will learn more and more about the players in each game.

We go into the game wanting to cause them problems rather than just taking it as a normal pre-season game.

And finally we are excited to welcome back Alfie Beestin back to the i2i, we are immensely proud of what he has gone to do and hopefully he can kick on this season.

Enjoy the game.
